Contrary to popular belief, the key to a great six pack is NOT crunches! You can do crunches day and night and never attain a trim waist line because you can not spot reduce fat no matter how hard you try.
The perfect “real world” example is Stuart MacDonald (Pictured Right) and the body transformation that he achieved in “I Want to Look Like That Guy.” Stuart went from a pudgy 44 inch waist to a shredded 27 inches in 6 months time. Stuart only trained abs directly 1 time a week. His strict attention to diet and consistent cardio is what made the magic happen. (You can learn the exact nutrition plan Stuart followed in my newest release “Secrets Behind I Want to Look Like That Guy.”)
The next time you are tempted to add yet another day of curnches to your routine or buy the latest ab crunch gizmo remember once again the physiological fact that you can not spot reduce fat!
The more you want to achieve a great six pack, the more you need to focus on diet and cardio!
Believe. Achieve.
Hi Jeff,
I watched that documentary, great stuff. I wanted to know what kind of ab exercises you had Stuart do on his once-per-week abs day.
I also wanted to know if you applied the 4-6 rep range for his abs as well.
Thanks so much!
Primary was some type of weighted crunch, typically the weight/resistance was provided by using a rope and doing “cable crunches”. That and weighted leg raises. You can see examples of Max-OT ab workouts and there are tips on my blog like the ones on the attached link…http://www.jeffwillet.com/newsite/2010/04/abdominal-training-tips/
How a lot of your fitness is attributed to our genes or good healthy living?
It is a combination of a lot of factors but everyone has their own best body they can achieve.
Jeff,
Hi Jeff, I just watched the documentary and plan to follow the 5 day workout routine you have listed on your site. I have been lifting for over 10 years and have had great results but yet continue to lift as I love to exercise. When you have time can you please relist or your diet that Stuart used in the documentary as the link on your site has been removed. I think this would be very beneficial as I have not maintained a strict diet. Thanks and we all appreciate your help
Sorry for the typo in the inital paragraph, I have NOT had great results and have been lifting for over 10 years, can you please relist the diet Stuart used in the documentary as the link does not work on your site.
You should be able to access the diet by inserting the DVD into a PC.
